The typical lifespan of the batteries for the EW-M41 is considered to be about 2-3 years. Note that is also highly dependent on the maintenance of the batteries. New batteries are not hard to locate, the manufacturer sell the batteries if they're even need to be changed. Each battery is about 8lbs, so with the two in the box, plus the weight of the box, the total weight would be about 20 lbs.
