Grab rails should be installed horizontally on the side wall closest to the toilet, about 33-36 inches (84-91 cm) above the floor, and extend at least 42 inches (106 cm) in length. An additional grab rail can be placed behind the toilet, about 36 inches (91 cm) long and mounted at the same height. This placement provides support and stability for users when sitting or standing.
